Asa App grew up in Mexico where his parents are involved in missions work. He met his wife Elizabeth in high school and both of them went on to receive their degrees from Moody Bible Institute. He is currently Lead Pastor at New Life Portage Park and has served on staff since 1993. Pastor Asa is a dynamic pastor with a lot of experience as a youth pastor, raising one of the strongest youth ministries in Chicago. He and his wife have mentored dozens of couples and young leaders. Asa and Elizabeth live on the Northwest side of Chicago and have four children.
Pastor Javier Villa has served in New Life since 2012. He is married to Karina with whom he has 3 daughters. He began a relationship with Jesus during his childhood through the testimony of his uncle and in the midst of family conflicts. He has served the Lord from his youth in various ministries. Pastor Javier's approach is to show others the love of God, train them and help them take part in the mission of God's family. His desire and prayer is that each person can have a fervent, personal relationship with Jesus, and that the kingdom of God is established in every believer, in their family, their neighborhood and their city.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for our nation. The theme for 2016 is Wake Up America and is based on Isaiah 58:1 “Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.”--Isaiah 58:1 NIV
